Studios’ Classroom is located inside the gallery!
Classes & Workshops are held in the classroom at the back of the gallery. You can enter through the backdoor in the alleyway behind the building or through the gallery. Due to the popularity of our classes and the preparation time needed by the instructors, we request that you pre-register for classes online prior to the day of class to guarantee your spot.

June 13 | From 2:30PM to 5:00PM
Paint a beautiful seascape with luminous sky, clouds and ocean with encaustic & mixed media techniques. All materials provided, students will have a 12” round art board to paint on, although they are free to bring in their own substrate as long as it’s a solid surface (not canvas) - I day and will last 3 hours.
Hazel Griffiths is a multidisciplinary artist originally from England, with a primary focus on encaustic painting. Using wax and mixed media, she builds textured, organic surfaces that become atmospheric landscapes.
$35 for materials to be collected at class.
June 16, 23, 30 | From 2:00PM to 5:00PM
THIS 3 DAY WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP will allow the participant to bring their own picture (s) to paint. We will have fun developing the painting in 3 classes with various techniques and critiques. More than one painting may be worked on during these 4 classes! Each participant will provide ALL their own materials and picture or combination of pictures they wish to have as a completed painting. Jan will work with each to help develop their own particular skills and artistic approach. Participants needing supplies must contact Jan before class in order to determine needs and related costs.
Jan is a professional artist and instructor. With her BFA and Masters in Education and Art, she brings her 50+ years of experience to the participants in every class. she believes that: "it is important to interpret art as you wish; to enjoy the art of painting; to not feel the need to copy any painter/instructor; and to feel progress, which is her passion"! She works to develop each persons' individual style and desires.
No supplies are included. If participant needs supplies, Jan should be contacted prior to class. A suggested supply list will be sent upon receipt of registration.

In this free-form 3 hour class students will learn to explore various mixed media techniques. In a fun & creative atmosphere, you will learn how to create a collage using bold, exciting and vibrant methods. Learn to apply balance within the 12x12 canvas while layering paint and materials.

Projects & Products include: Acrylic paint, Gold leaf, Pebo Copper Relief, Stamping, Stencils and Dried Flowers and Plants.

In this Beginners 3 hour class students will learn to paint with a vibrant color pallet using various mixed media techniques and materials. In a fun and festive atmosphere, you will create a textured 2 dimensional painting using pallet knives and modeling paste on an 11x14 canvas to take home and enjoy. June 18 | From 1:00PM to 4:00PM
Jan's MASTERS SERIES allows her to lead you through each Master painter to develop this specific painting with the Master in mind; but, using your particular colors and materials. This is not "copy" the painting"! The class teaches you techniques used in the painting and is meant as a study for the participant to learn and obtain skills to use in their own paintings. Although Jan is not an Art Historian, she has studied extensively in the arts and various techniques of the masters. Have fun hearing a little about the Master's techniques and his story. We will paint this in Acrylic and gold leaf. Suggested material list will be sent upon receipt of registration.

In this 3 hour beginners class couples will learn to paint 2 vibrant 11x14 canvases with tropical vibes.
