Studios’ Classroom is located inside the gallery!
Classes & Workshops are held in the classroom at the back of the gallery. You can enter through the backdoor in the alleyway behind the building or through the gallery. Due to the popularity of our classes and the preparation time needed by the instructors, we request that you pre-register for classes online prior to the day of class to guarantee your spot.

AUGUST 22, 29 | From 2:00PM to 4:30PM
Coral kingdom: create your own reef in encaustic wax in this all levels 2 day workshop.
Create your own magical coral reef using encaustic techniques to build up beautiful surfaces and textures to recreate the underwater realm.
All materials provided, students will have a 12” round art board to paint on although they are free to bring in their own substrate as long as it’s a solid surface (not canvas).
Hazel Griffiths is a multidisciplinary artist originally from England, with a primary focus on encaustic painting. Using wax and mixed media, she builds textured, organic surfaces that become atmospheric landscapes.

AUG 29 | From 10:00AM to 12:00PM
This Creative Photography class is about using interesting techniques to turn you photographs into works of art, for beginners to advanced. Whether you use a mirrorless or DSLR camera with interchangeable lens, we will explore the possibilities of the images these cameras are capable of, other than just setting on Auto and snapping the shutter. We will also review some of the iPhone settings and multiple ways to spark your inner creativity. We will explore composition concepts, as well as techniques such as long exposure, intentional camera movement (ICM), and adding textures, whether obtained directly in camera or with various software and Apps.
Bring your cameras and your iPhone and be prepared to be inspired!
Your instructor is Rebecca Ragain, a local photographic artist. Rebecca received a Certification in Photography from Eastern Florida State University in 2011. SEP 26 | From 1:00PM to 4:00PM
This is a new class featuring Shrinkers like never before. You will learn how to color, shrink and shape these tiny gems into 2 or 3 stems of unique, fanciful and artful creations.
Barbara Farrell has a BFA/MFA from the University of Miami. She has taught at university level and abroad and is an active working artist in her crafts. Robin Dickerson has been in the arts community for over 30 years, creating commercial/residential commissions in mosaics and extensive teaching experience along with developing her jewelry creations.

July 27, 28, 29, & 30 | From 9:00AM to 1:00PM
A fun and creative atmosphere where Students will learn the use of art mediums in various genres of art styles. We will explore educational spots including Travel, Animals & The Environment.
Projects & Products include:
Pastels, Card Making, Acrylic Painting, Illustration, Print Making, Paper & Cardboard Crafts, Air Dry Clay, Mixed Media Art, Recycled Materials and more.
On the first day of Camp Students will create an art apron that they can proudly wear, an art journal & daily projects to take home.

She brings with her 40 years of experience in the arts and provides personalized attention to all that attend. She has led arts & crafts classes instructing children in Sunday School with her church.

AUGUST 1 | From 12:30PM to 2:30PM
Create luscious, organic, floral forms using encaustic wax and mixed media to paint various textured surfaces, we’ll create imaginative impressions of forests, jungles or wild gardens.
All materials provided, students will have a 12” round art board to paint on although they are free to bring in their own substrate as long as it’s a solid surface (not canvas). Students are also encouraged to bring photo references of textures for inspiration if they’d like.
Hazel Griffiths is a multidisciplinary artist working across both digital and physical media, with a primary focus on encaustic painting. She use’s mixed media elements and layers of wax to create textures and organic forms to allow atmospheric landscapes to take shape, treading the path between the real and the imagined. Her work is rooted in a fascination with environments, both internal and external, which has included a creative detour into developing narrative-driven virtual reality spaces.

July 29 | From 2:00PM to 5:00PM
In this 3 hour beginners class students will learn how to paint with a vibrant color pallet using various mixed media techniques and materials. In a fun and festive atmosphere, you will create a textured 3D painting using pallet knives and modeling paste on an 16x20 canvas to take home and enjoy. AUGUST 18 | From 2:00PM to 5:00PM
In this all levels workshop, Students create their own encaustic medium by combining beeswax, damar resin and pigment, as well as learning how to use the application equipment. We will then go over the fundamentals of encaustic painting such as layering, fusing, inlays, creating texture and adding various surface effects. At the end of the workshop students will have a completed paintings that demonstrate and incorporate all of the techniques they’ve learned. Art boards, encaustic medium and other materials will all be provided.

AUGUST 8 | From 2:00PM to 5:00PM
We will use encaustic and mixed media techniques to build up beautiful surfaces and textures to create an imaginary landscape infused with memory and emotion.
We will create imaginative impressions of a landscape you can create from your imagination or a real place that you hold a deep connection to; your garden, childhood home or a favorite vacation spot.
All materials are provided, students will have a 12” round art board to paint on although they are free to bring in their own substrate as long as it’s a solid surface (not canvas).
Students are also encouraged to bring photo references or sketches of the landscape they’d like to create.
