Encaustic

I am a multidisciplinary artist working across both digital and physical media, with a primary focus on encaustic painting. I Use mixed media elements and layers of wax to create textures and organic forms to allow atmospheric landscapes to take shape, treading the path between the real and the imagined. My work is rooted in a fascination with environments, both internal and external, which has included a creative detour into developing narrative-driven virtual reality spaces.

My personal story starts on a hill on the border of England and Wales, I can still remember the smell of moss and wild grasses; dry and fragrant in the summer, the pungent smell of the bracken we made dens in. This place became the foundation that knit together the fabric of my creativity, its threads weaving paths and tributaries that continue to feed my visual language.

I have now been living and working in the South and Central Florida regions for the last 12 years and continue to be inspired by the rich and varied environments from the beautiful coastal areas to the oak forests of central Florida.
