Mediums: Acrylic Painting
I am an acrylic painter presently exploring landscapes and seascapes. I am originally from Elmira, New York and Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. We moved around quite a bit until 2005 when we settled in the Tampa Bay area on the west coast of Florida. In 2021, we relocated to Viera in Brevard County.
I began to dabble in art as a young adult inspired by my grandfather and great aunt. After raising my children, I turned to art fully while caring for my aging parents. Escaping into calming scenes painted with muted colors was my diversion during that difficult period of my life. Today, I paint in similar styles and colors, which brings me joy and peace in a world that is often too busy and crazy.
I attended Dean College in Massachusetts and Central Connecticut State University with a Physical Education Major. My more formal art education began in 2005, after moving to Tampa, where I began classes at the Kokol Art Studio in Tampa. As my confidence grew, I applied to the Karen Baker Studio at The Stirling Art Studios and Gallery in Dunedin and the Morean Art Center in St. Petersburg. I also joined TESA, (The Exhibiting Society of Artists), a group that exhibits annually in various prominent high-profile venues throughout the Tampa Bay area.

As for my future as an artist, I hope to continue to learn and grow in different mediums. My goal is to bring to the viewer an awareness of the beauty that surrounds us.
