Gladys Seaward of Cocoa Beach. Gladys enjoys working with natural objects combining hand weaving with various glass beads, often creating beaded cabochons encircling gemstones. Her free form sculptural bead woven jewelry uses tiny Japanese glass beads combined with semiprecious stones, fossils, sea glass, jasper, agate and various semiprecious chips.
Gladys is inspired by her artist mother who was a Brevard County abstract painter. Gladys also found that the opportunity to watch the space program develop and make history has influenced her creative process. Gladys is also a member of the Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA and her work can be viewed on their website as well as the Studios of Cocoa Beach website.
I am mostly interested in creating free form sculptural bead woven jewelry. I use Japanese glass beads combined with semiprecious stones, fossils, sea glass, jasper, agate and various semiprecious chips.
